About Us
We are Victorian Occasions. We offer our three-story Victorian-style house for leasing as an event venue for life’s special occasions, such as weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, reunions, etc. Our house, which is on the national registry of historical houses, was built in the 1890s by one of Wichita’s prominent citizens, Mr. John Anawalt, who made his fortune in the lumber business. This house is located in the oldest part of mid-town Wichita, amongst a number of other beautiful Victorian-era houses. We are the current home owners, Alan Adam and BJ Sheu, who purchased the house in 2015 and restored it to its current glory.
The first floor features a fairly open floor plan for events. This area is sparsely populated with furniture in order to accommodate groups of event participants of up to around twenty people. Guests are free to decorate the first-floor space in accordance with their particular event theme. They can also rearrange furniture (within reason and so as not to scratch our hardwood floors. We provide a number of folding chairs for our guests to use upon request. We also provide a nice wireless (USB) music speaker, and our kitchen is available for use by our guests.
For out-of-town guests who need overnight accommodations but would prefer not to stay in a hotel, there are five bedrooms available on our house’s second floor. There are four bathrooms in our house, two on the first floor and two on the second floor. Two of these four bathrooms have showers.
Behind our house is a spacious parking lot that can accommodate a number of cars. The house and parking lot are enclosed by a wrought iron fence to ensure the safety of guests’ cars.
We expended a lot of loving effort into restoring this old house, and we hope that it can contribute to some wonderful lifelong memories for our guests.
